Summer paddling
Well this is it. Summer paddling in Reading: nearly non-existant. Well, the odd trip to Boulters I guess (see photos), but I really don't like pourovers - they are too much effort for not much reward! However, on a hot day (as it was last week) a post-work session (it is only 10 min drive from work - and on the way home) is the perfect way to spend a summer evening. Although it is not a good feature for learning new moves, it is good to keep the boating muscles in working order, and because it requires lots of physical effort it's good for the fitness. I went up to Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham during half term week (end of May) and my body really noticed I hadn't been near my boat for a month! The Nottingham Eurocup is next w/e, and I'm not feeling prepared due to the recent lack of boating, but I'm looking forward to meeting up with lots of people that I haven't seen since Oz so it should be a good social event, even if I won't be putting in my best boating performance!
