Nene Youth Freestyle

I was recently helping out at another fantastic event of this year's Youth Freestyle Series. This time at the Nene WhiteWater Course. An interesting (very tiny) place for 70 youngsters + coaches! It was a little bit crowded, but was amazing to see so many under-18 skilled freestyle paddlers (all of whom had a fairly solid white-water roll and a huge number, embarrassingly, a whole lot better than me at a number of freestyle skills - especially the flatwater stuff!).

A packed day included:

Flatwater coaching

Bungee-boat race

Whitewater Freestyle (points scored for everything from rolls, to enders, to tricky whus)

Boater X, several different types of races - including swimming across the course to get to the boats, and racing down without paddles.
